Note: Yes, we acknowledge that our blog updates are a year behind. We'll blame this on some big medical, family, and living arrangement changes that distracted us. Curious about what these changes were? Keep reading to find out! :)
May of 2012 had numerous highs, including:
-A Derby Day/Cinco de Mayo party with the Loyola crowd
-Kat's visit to Chicago with 6-week old Maeve, which led to a small-scale baby shower at our place with Brooke and Vanessa
-Fun times at Taylor and Abby's wedding in Chicago
-A Cubs game with Kristin Grau
-And a fun Memorial Day weekend including karaoke with the Endrizzi-Kramers at Louie's and a bbq and Brooke and Beach's place.
Yet, the month ended on a rough note on May 29th, when Ryan tore his Achilles tendon while playing recreational soccer. This led to a late night in the Loyola ER and a surgical repair at Loyola the next day. While he was a trooper about the situation, this was tough timing as Megan was about to leave town for a week-long training and we had a packed summer ahead. We are very grateful for the support of a numbers of friends who helped out with rides to doctor's appointments and checking in on Ryan as he learned how to get around on one working leg.
